1Does it hurt?
Our members generally enjoy the feeling of being adjusted. Adjustments are not painful, but may feel strange the first couple of times or cause some slight discomfort especially if you are experiencing symptoms. After your adjustments, usually at the beginning of care, you may notice a feeling of soreness – similar to how you can feel when you first return to exercise. This is completely normal and is usually very mild and will pass in a few days, it is due to changes being made to your body.
2Am I too old?
Definitely not! Those in their more senior years make up a large part of our members. We love helping ensure that all our members are able to move and function well, to get the most out of their lives, no matter what age they are or when they chose to start care with us!
3How many sessions will I need?
Following your consultation your Chiropractor will recommend a specific care plan including regular adjustment visits, regular re-examination, progress reports and reviewing your lifestyle. Your unique care plan is based upon your age, presenting health concerns, lifestyle, unique spinal problems and future goals.
Our clients will generally choose to continue to benefit from Chiropractic care long after they have left behind the health concerns that prompted them to connect with us in the first place once they have experienced how Chiropractic can change the way they live their life.
4Can I have Chiropractic care when I’m pregnant?
Absolutely! We support many women throughout their pregnancy and are part of a pregnant woman’s team that includes partners, midwives, doctors, doulas and family As well as helping to relieve aches and pains associated with the inevitable changes to the body during pregnancy, Chiropractic adjustments may help assist your body in preparing for delivery.
5Can my children benefit from Chiropractic care too?
We regularly have babies and children visiting for check overs and adjustments. It is never too early to begin your Chiropractic journey!
6What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and that do not restrict your movement. You will remain fully clothed throughout all your visits.
7Is it safe?
When compared with traditional approaches Chiropractic care is remarkably safe. Chiropractic adjustments are far safer than anti-inflammatories, painkillers, muscle relaxants, and back surgery.
There are many research studies that have documented the safety and effectiveness of Chiropractic adjustments. Millions of Chiropractic adjustments are safely delivered to satisfied patients every day.
8What if I’m not right for Chiropractic care?
Following your consultation your Chiropractor will be able to tell you whether Chiropractic care is a suitable path for you based on your current health concerns and goals. Doctors of Chiropractic recognise the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient. If your Chiropractor doesn’t feel they are the best person to help then we will help you find your next step. There are obviously limitations to any practice and there are times when drugs or surgery may be appropriate.
